Dinesh D’souza’s new documentary, “2000 Mules,” has only been out for a few weeks and it’s already caused a firestorm. It’s been painted as everything from “a movie from a far right filmmaker with a history of false claims” https://www.politifact.com/article/2022/may/04/faulty-premise-2000-mules-trailer-about-voting-mai/
to a bona fide movie that “Offers vivid proof of Voter fraud.” https://www.dailysignal.com/2022/04/29/film-2000-mules-offers-vivid-proof-of-voter-fraud/
But what’s really behind D’Souza’s so-called expose of “Who Done it”? And is he really interested in eliminating electoral fraud–or just making sure it works to his side’s advantage? Most importantly, who stands to benefit if his proposals are actually implemented? I recently sat down and watched D’Souza’s new feature in its entirety to find out.
While the movie admittedly does more to highlight the problems with our electoral system than the rest of our corporate media combined, there are a variety of issues with the film, the most glaring of which is this: For a movie which ostensibly aims to prove alleged electoral fraud, 2000 Mules is alarmingly short on actual proof. The audience gets to witness countless Mules making multiple illegal drops of envelopes in drop boxes but we never actually see one ballot. The main piece of evidence is based completely on the assumption that those ballots were all harvested for one person. Equally alarming are its conclusions–that rather than reducing our dependence on the notoriously-vulnerable drop boxes, the solution is to increase government surveillance of them.
Dinesh D’souza claimed in an interview with Glenn Beck; “One thing that Republicans can do is push for surveillance on every drop box in America”
This is not a reasonable solution but rather a green light for the security state to begin laying the groundwork for surveillance infrastructure needed for the fourth industrial revolution.
Given the existing logic behind the push for facial recognition technology, it’s obvious how such measures could be used to further expand the national security state’s ability to monitor us. One need not be an expert in civil liberties to see how increasing surveillance on Americans, could lead us down a dangerous path.
It is important to also keep in mind that dropboxes in the middle of nowhere are not secure and need to be eliminated altogether because they present a clear threat to the integrity of the election process, particularly the chain of custody. Once a ballot is inserted in a dropbox, it enters into the abyss. And once instantly mixed in with the other ballots, it has now become impossible to track. The only way to solidify the principle of “one person, one vote” is to have voters show up at a designated location and to verify their identification. Mail-in ballots are not secure, especially with dropboxes, because they obliterate the chain of custody. The chain of custody is defined as; a process that tracks the movement of evidence through its collection, safeguarding, and analysis lifecycle by documenting each person who handled the evidence, the date/time it was collected or transferred, and the purpose for the transfer. An election without a proper chain of custody is a flawed election, because it’s impossible to validate.
The next part of the movie which missed the mark was the discovery of WHERE the ballots come from. Dinesh covers most but not all the bases. He exposes ballot harvesters' behaviors of exploiting poor people and elders for their ballots, but he forgot to look in the most important place.
The Contractors hired to make the ballots. No one has smoking footage of contractors giving ballots to nefarious characters, but no one is looking at these contracts explaining the duties and responsibility of these companies. The public is not given the procedures and chain of custody of ballots from these contractors who sign lucrative deals mostly with the Secretary of States. What’s to stop a friendly contractor from handing over ballots to the people who awarded them these contacts? And furthermore why haven’t their responsibilities been made transparent to the public? I have a lot of questions for these contractors. What happens when you mail out a ballot and that person no longer lives at that address? Does it get returned to you or sent somewhere else? How do we know what poll booklet with names given to them is valid? How can we be assured they didn’t print extra ballots for the friendly politician that gave them that contract? The bottom line is that these companies are operating in complete secrecy. We need complete transparency and an understanding of their responsibilities to make sure they are not part of the fraud. Completely securing the mail ballot system is almost impossible, but in the case it’s not eliminated, we need to make sure it is as airtight as possible. Dinesh failed to look in the most important area.
Finally the last area that left me exasperated was the movie’s heavily partisan bent. When D’Souza suggests that these mules who harvested and illegally cast ballots in states where ballot harvesting was illegal also attended several BLM and Antifa protests, he’s playing team sports. Yeah that might be true, but if you think for one second that the Mules are more dangerous than their handlers who paid them, then you are delusional at best. The Ruling class is a Predator class. We don’t know if the Mules the predator class hired had several people who were black mailed, bribed or coerced? Make no mistake that those at the top are as sinister as can be. Total blame goes on the evil, powerful forces in charge. To put the blame on the little guy by using partisan ideology is missing the plot completely. Dinesh and his fellow colleagues also suggest that this heist was completely pulled off by the Democrats alone. I have said this before and I will say it again. The Democrats could have not pulled this off without the help of the Establishment Republicans. Isn’t it odd that Dinesh is claimingthat the Democrats stole the election yet the coattails went heavily for the Republicans? Isn’t Mitch McConnel closer to Joe Biden than Donald Trump ever was? Why if the Democrats were cheating were there so many ballots marked for Joe Biden but not for other Democrats marked on the down ballot? The reason is that the Republicans were part of the heist. Their silence is what makes them as guilty as sin. Perhaps Dinesh should investigate Mitch McConnell and Linsey Graham’s elections? I have heard election integrity activists sound the alarm on several Establishment law makers elections that don’t have a D next to their name. Whether you like it or not, election fraud is a bi-partisan practice.
So what are the right solutions to fixing our broken election system and more importantly why is it so important to reject the solutions brought forth by Dinesh in his latest film 2000 Mules? Well for one we don’t want to mistake the discovery of Mules lead to turning us into sheep. But let’s start with the solution first.
Why is that for finding solutions pertaining to US policy and social issues, our government and mainstream media goons always have us working backwards? As in the most recent frenzy surrounding the issue of Roe V Wade where both government and media have dug in deep on both sides of the aisle fighting for or against the national legalization of abortion. Wouldn’t it be wise for somebody, anybody, to direct a national dialogue on discussing HOW we as a nation can shrink the amount of unwanted pregnancies? Wouldn’t that make both sides happy? It seems like we are working backwards. So goes the same for the right wing's new craving on election integrity. At least as pertaining to our lawmakers that is. The GOP leadership has been asleep at the wheel when it comes to elections. There is no surprise that the majority of Democrat and Republican Secretary of States have signed deals with private equity owned companies that are in charge of printing and more importantly counting our ballots? And in the case of allowing our election systems more trackable, transparent and publicly verifiable, both party leaders have punted. If it wasn’t for some lawmakers on the state level, we would have zero movement on election reform. So one must ask themselves why have both parties not only left our elections open to fraud, but added to the mad chaos which is US elections.
“If there is a flaw in an election system that could be gained or cheated, chances are that flaw will be gained and cheated”
What’s needed for the American election system is a return to simplicity. I have observed elections in multiple countries in the global south and can tell you they are simple, quick and efficient. There are NO:
-Drop Boxes
-Mail in Ballots
-Voting without ID
-Long voting lines
-Proprietary software in machines counting our votes
In fact, the majority of the countries in the Global South have public counting by human beings with hand marked paper ballots.
The solution for America to fix its election system is clear. Keep it simple. Not complicate it further with cameras and geo tracking. In fact in Dinesh’s movie, they admit that “Geo Tracking” was nefariously used to track participants of the January 6th “Stop the Steal” rally. Why in the hell would you want to use this technology in the future on our law abiding citizens?
Finally the last issue we need to address is why it’s important to NOT follow Dinesh off the cliff. Well despite Dinesh being uber partisan and pretty much lazy in his research, it is because his solutions are aimed to divide the small but present election integrity movement in two. Red Team vs Blue Team. This is what those who perpetrated these crimes actually want. And whether we like it or not, the only way out of this quagmire is together. Election integrity is a non partisan issue. And if we listen to ring leaders who are attempting to divide us we will never escape their control.

Paper ballots are just the latest front - in a war that the people of this country have been losing, for a long time.
I have one small quibble with Pasta on this. IDs aren't necessary. In California there are no ID requirements - and the Secretary of State and local Registrars still have adequate power to check the identity of any Elector, "Qualified", or even ones who are Electors by right.
There is NO LAW which requires people to accept, take, have or carry Government issued ID. Under the traditions of the laws of commerce, anything that you name or number, you are claiming as your PROPERTY. Under the Uniform Commercial Code, and State versions, anything Registered by the State, is owned by it.
For instance 'your' car - property of the STATE. You have a security interest, and a "CERTIFICATE OF TITLE", but not the actual ownership. If they want to seize it, and sell it at auction, for far less than you think it's worth - the statutes allow them to do that. If you REALLY owned it, they couldn't tax your ownership on an annual basis, or sell it without your permission, for less than YOU think its worth.
So the requirements for an "ID" necessarily work against free people, "American Nationals", "state Citizens", "citizen non-residents", etc. who choose to NOT BE property of the STATE or Federal Government.
Those people have rights, and should be considered Electors, without any "qualified" status. It should be an inherent right, of their nativity in any given state. Huston vs. Hill speaks to the lack of any ID requirement under our laws. The lack of requirements to produce papers, are what distinguished us from a "Police State", in the words of that decision.
The Counties and State keep records of Birth Certificates. People who wish to keep their offspring out of the STATE and Federal system of chattels, can use affidavits and witnesses, Baptism Certificates and other means to establish that they're here, and have inalienable rights.
It's a fair point to make, that ID requirements invariably burden the poor, the elderly and people of color. While it isn't a huge number, a certain percentage of them will be without. And as is the case with myself, as one of "the people of California" - we ALL have the right to REJECT any attempt to make us property of a fictional entity, or collateral on a fictional (fiat currency) debt.
Aside from that, I couldn't agree more. "Voter Registration" - is sufficient proof of identity. We all have fingerprints. If additional investigation is needed, that should be an adequate means of determining who casts any particular vote.
I mean, I thought I wasn't gonna like what you had to say there, Pasta. But I only didn't like some of what you had to say. Some I liked. So basically I was pleasantly surprised, somewhat, after finishing this. Is there more to come from you in this sub stack? Hope you're well, my friend.
